President — The WyteStone Company
Fred joined W.J. Vakos & Company in 2001 as President of the WyteStone Hotel Company. With over 25 years of Hotel and Restaurant experience, Fred brings new concept design, implementation strategy, development, and operations specialties to the company. He is presently involved in the expansion of WyteStone Suites in several future locations across the Mid-Atlantic region.
Senior Vice President of Construction and Development
AB joined W.J. Vakos & Company in 1987 and provides the company with over 30 years of construction and development experience. A.B. serves as the Senior Vice President of Construction and Development on all commercial construction projects including Southpoint I and II, Spotsylvania Courthouse Village, WyteStone Suites Hotels, Sleep Inn Hotels and other projects in Richmond, Chesapeake, Charlottesville, and other localities. He oversees all phases of budgeting, design, construction, and site development. A.B. is a former basketball and baseball coach for the Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Department, Spotsylvania AAU, and a local high school.
Vice President of Finance
Sandi has been with W.J. Vakos & Company for 23½ years and is currently the Vice President of Finance and Administration. Sandy graduated with an undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and currently oversees all administrative and financials needs of the company.
PE, Vice President of Development and Engineering
Monte joined W.J. Vakos & Company in 2004 after an extensive career in commercial land development and engineering. Monte graduated from VMI with a degree in civil engineering,and an MBA from Averett in 1995. With 16 years of experience and as a registered engineer in both Maryland and Virginia, Monte brings his concept of master planning, utility designs, road design, storm water management facility designs, traffic circulation, and cost estimating to W.J. Vakos developments and your communities.
Vice President of Construction
Matt joined W. J. Vakos & Company in 2007 and has over 35 years of commercial construction project management and estimating experience. During his career he has earned certificates in construction management, project management, cost estimating, construction law, contract negotiation and conflict resolution. Matt and his wife, Bambi, are natives of Spotsylvania. He has coached football, girl’s basketball and softball for the Spotsylvania County Parks and Recreation Department. Matt and his family worship at Spotswood Baptist Church where he also serves as a Bible Fellowship teacher for the seventh grade boys.
Project Manager
David joined W.J. Vakos & Company in 2004 after 17 years of land planning and site design in both commercial and residential developments. David is currently overseeing our development Spotsylvania Courthouse Village. Over the last 3½ years David has largely contributed to the development and design of Southpoint II in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Away from the office, David is highly involved with community projects, a Deacon of Fairview Baptist Church and a coach for the City of Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Department.
Vice President of Marketing
Paul joined W.J. Vakos & Company in 2000 with over 30 years of commercial real estate development and commercial business experience. Paul holds a Bachelor degree from the University of North Carolina- Pembroke and a Masters degree from the University of Virginia. Paul is responsible for heading up the leasing and sales marketing for the company. Paul and his wife are active members of Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.
Chief Operating Officer
Bill Vakos III joined W.J. Vakos & Company in 1991 after graduating from Old Dominion University with a degree in business administration. For the past 15 years Bill has been involved in the leasing, marketing, planning, and development areas of our projects across Virginia. Bill also proudly serves on the Board of Directors for Virginia Community Bank, as a Deacon at Spotswood Baptist church, and as a coach at Fredericksburg Christian Schools.
